Migration
Using these templates in an S/4HANA migration
Every workbook doubles as an SAP data migration template: use it to collect, cleanse and check data before an ECC to S/4HANA load, then keep using it for mass changes after go live.
Load master data first, in order
Characteristics before classification. Materials before bills of material, batches and classification. Cost elements and activity types before cost centre planning. Asset classes before asset masters. Functional locations before equipment. The SAP master data migration templates page gives the full order.
Ahead of the Migration Cockpit or LSMW
The column to field mapping in each workbook is the same mapping those tools need, so the templates work as the data collection and cleansing layer ahead of either one. They are not the Migration Cockpit's own staging templates. For how an LSMW object reads a file like this, see the 14 LSMW steps.
ECC and S/4HANA
Every template is built on a standard SAP interface that exists on both. On S/4HANA with long material numbers, confirm the material field length in SE11 before a production load.
After go live
The Migration Cockpit is built for the initial load. The mass changes that follow, such as a material group realignment, a price list update or a cost centre restructure, use these same templates through the SAP change interfaces.

Yes. All 75 templates are free Excel .xlsx files you can open, edit and use in any SAP project, including client work. Each one covers a single SAP process and maps every column to the structure and field of the SAP interface it posts through.
Which SAP interface does each template post through?
Every template names its SAP interface on the page and on the BAPI Mapping tab inside the workbook. For example the material master template posts through BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA and the purchase order template through BAPI_PO_CREATE1. Each column in the template is mapped to a specific structure and field in that interface.
How do I actually post the data to SAP once the template is filled in?
PostNow.ai loads the filled template, validates every row against your live SAP system, and posts it through the SAP interface named on the template. It runs under your own SAP user and authorisations, so nothing is posted that you could not post yourself in the SAP GUI. You can also hand the template to an ABAP developer or a migration tool, since the field mapping is already documented.
Do these templates work on S/4HANA and on ECC?
Yes, because they are built on standard SAP BAPIs rather than on screen recordings, and those interfaces exist on both. One caveat worth checking: if you are on S/4HANA with long material numbers, confirm the material field length in SE11 before a production load, since the sales and distribution structures carry an additional 40 character field on newer releases.
Do I need an ABAP developer to use these?
No. The templates are plain Excel files and PostNow.ai posts them through standard SAP interfaces without any custom code or transport. A developer is only needed if you want to build your own loading program, in which case the BAPI Mapping tab gives them the structures and fields to work from.
Can I use these templates with the SAP Migration Cockpit or with LSMW?

SAP designed the Migration Cockpit for the initial load into a new system, so many teams use it for go live and then need a different route for the mass changes that follow.
Why do the templates show the BAPI and its fields?
Because the interface is where loads actually fail. A field that looks optional on the SAP screen can be mandatory in the interface, amounts often sit in a different table from the line they belong to, and change interfaces ignore any value whose update flag is not set. Each template documents that behaviour for its own interface so you find out before the load, not during it.
How often are these templates updated?
They are rebuilt whenever an interface definition changes or a user reports a correction. Each workbook states the SAP release the field list was verified against and tells you to confirm the parameters in SE37 on your own system before a production load.
